A Journey to Overcome Weakness

My name is Melina, I'm 18 and i've been crossfitting since December of 2011. Since then I've become completely addicted to the lifestyle and community.

My love of food has grown exponentially since I started eating (mostly) paleo (most of the time).

So here's some stuff I find interesting, inspiring, or would just like to eat.

WOD

Strength:

3x5 back squat @ 80% (145)

Metcon:

10 rounds for time of

3 supine ring rows (substituted instead of dead lifts since my back is tight)

20 double unders 60 singles 

finished in 9:50

Not too grueling this time. The ropes at the gym are really annoying and I forgot mine at home so I had no choice but to use one, and I just couldn’t pull off double unders tonight. Singles were even a challenge. It kept whipping my hair in my face and catching on my feet and it just felt awkward. Maybe I’m whining and imagining things. I don’t know.

But I didn’t let that get me down because the coach that I hardly see (but really like) has suggested I start a new lifting program since I haven’t really had much progress with the 3x5. SO in the near future I’ll hopefully be starting the Wendler 5-3-1. We’ll see how that goes.

Backyard WOD


Messed around with some Turkish get-ups, did 3x5 overhead press (60 lbs).

Then went out to say hello to my chickens and do a modified version of Annie

Finished in 9:43, but I had some trouble in the beginning with my sit ups since the ground is so lumpy in my yard. Oh well.
