Strength/skillwork:
Worked on double unders, kipping pull ups and ring dips but forgot to count any of them.
Back squat 3x5 (160)
Metcon:
9 minute AMRAP of
3 squat clean into thrusters (65 lbs)
6 kettlebell swings (45)
9 box jumps (20”)
Finished 5 rounds + 1 squat clean thruster
The box jumps were the hardest part. My cardio has not been so good lately. It’s possibly because I’ve been eating a little more dairy and that has affected me in the past. I’m gonna try to cut down on that and any processed sugar. Right now I’m just glad that one’s over.

I was super tired beforehand and just mentally out of it, so I sort of took forever on my first set of lunges, figuring out exactly what the hell I was doing. But it was an ok workout. I definitely feel it in my butt.

Power snatch 5x1, I don’t remember the weight of every set but I worked up to 92 lbs.
Deadlift 1x5 (195 lbs)
Metcon:
4 rounds of
3 ground to overhead (any way)
6 box jumps (20”)
10 toes to bar
Finished in 8:16
I used 87 lbs on the ground to overhead because i started out with power snatches, but they felt so awkward for some reason that I just switched to clean and jerk. I probably could have stuck it out in the snatches but I didn’t want to risk anything weird happening. And I kept my form good on the c&j. The toes to bar weren’t bad but they were definitely pretty slow. After I worked on muscle ups for a while.
It was a pretty good day considering I PR’d on my snatch and deadlift and felt pretty strong on both of them. I also got to hold a week and a half old baby which was wonderful. So I don’t know why I feel bad.

Three rounds of:
Burpees
52 pound Power snatch
Box jump, 20″ box
52 pound Thruster
Chest to bar Pull-ups (from box)
Do each exercise for one minute, counting reps. After each round there was a minute break.
Total reps: 144
Freaked myself out on the box jumps by missing it on the first round and almost falling on my face. Fun.

Someday I will be comfortable with doing power snatches. Friday was not that day.

Of course I found out afterwards that the reason they felt a bit awkward and wrong was because my butt was too high up. This information would have been helpful during the workout.
