I started a new job this week so I haven’t had much time for anything at all. But I managed to squeeze in a mini wod this morning before my first appointment with a customer.
Warm up:
About a half hour of yoga, focusing mainly on back and hip mobility
10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 sit ups
After each set of sit ups, do 7 burpees.
For a home wod that was pretty good and it helped me catch up on the 100 day burpee challenge. Today is 42, and yesterday I only did 10 so I had to add 31 to today to make up for that, but it all ended up working out.
Now if only my brother would get out of the shower because I’m just sweating on my bedroom floor.
I am constantly going back and forth between conflicting insecurities. One day I’ll feel inadequate athletically, not strong enough, think that I should be working harder, lifting more, spending more time at the gym. The next I’ll wish I was more feminine-looking, had a smaller waist, bigger boobs to the point where I actually have thought about giving up crossfit entirely.
Ugh my cleans did not feel that great today. I have recently noticed that I tend to let my toes shift out as I shift onto my heels. it’s minor but it’s annoying and I don’t even notice I’m doing it until four people come tell me after. But I am progressing in weight, so that’s good. I just have to get a solid program lined up. I feel lost if I don’t have a concrete plan on paper that I can count on, and then maybe adjust for feel.
Every time my coach says I need to start getting uncomfortable in my workouts
I think several things:
- Shit, he’s right
- But It’s already pretty uncomfortable
- No, I need to push myself harder on a lot of the workouts
- How am I ever going to get used to forcing myself to be uncomfortable?
Halloween WOD from Friday!
What have I done with my Sunday?
A little bit of yoga, then cooking, cleaning, a little homework, grocery shopping, more cooking and more cooking.
It’s because I love food.
I made an omelette, turkey bacon and cinnamon sweet potato spears for breakfast, I’m making giant meatloaves and mashed butternut squash for the rest of the week, and a steak for lunch with leftover vegetables and acorn squash.
Going to a Halloween WOD later tonight.
Can’t wait to see everybody all dressed up!

I felt great during and after rowing, but after walking around and stuff tonight my knee is more achy than tight. Icing it and then going to bed.

I’ve been lifting more consistently, eating tons and tons of protein and resting an extra day.
I’ve felt stronger, my appetite has been through the roof and my mom just asked if I’ve lost weight.
I think I’ve found something here.

My gym teacher wants me to help him put together some crossfit-style workouts we can do in the gym when we’re not in the weight room.
I told him there is a huge abundance of those all over the internet and he can talk to any of the local gyms, but he wants me to come up with something.
I’m not sure how I feel about this.
